Post by shutdown » Sun Jul 08, 2012 6:12 pm

Ernest Borgnine has died and the first movies i saw in the cinema was with him in Convoy. Granted I was only 2 but what 2 year old boy wouldn't watch a movie with trucks in it. Still it's sad to see a hollywood great leave us.

Another sad loss. I remember him from Airwolf, but I know he did a lot more.

Rest in peace, good sailor. You will be missed . . . :(

Colonel Hogan had to protect his men against the Nazis,
but Lt. Commander McHale had to protect his men from the Japanese navy,
AND Captain Binghamton, the embodiment of all military/bureaucratic neurosis.

McHale had to play the father for a bunch of minor goofs and crooks, to make sure they weren't killed by either side, because they were too human, gentle, frail, real to survive without McHale.

Sad to see him go.

We've lost a lot, this year. Griffith, Helmsley, and now Borgnine... among others :(
