I'm a really big H.P. Lovecraft fan; unlikely to come as a surprise given my signature and "location." His work sits at the intersection of what I've been trained in (physics, metaphysics, history) and my hobbies (science-fiction/fantasy, obsessive world-building, cliodynamics/sociology). Suffice to say, :nerd:

Anyway, I found that there's a pretty cool artist who does atmospheric electronica inspired by Lovecraft and thought this was nifty enough that some of you might be interested. I think I may end up picking up one or two of his albums, both for listening and because I think some of the pieces would make an excellent soundtrack for any RPG sessions I find myself running.

I was especially fond of the second sample from this album:

It actually inspired the world-history I used for the story Leona, and I was listening to it as I wrote the description of the outside of the O'Neill-cylinder colony. More generally, it tends to bring to mind Lovecraft's "Dreamlands" setting; surreal but intense.

are good to their brothers:
they don’t want to mend
their own ways, but each other's"
