Fingers Crossed - jumping to CSP 5.0

Post by handle2 » Wed Mar 18, 2026 9:06 pm

Celsys just released their v5.0 of Clip Studio Paint. While I've been using it for the longest time, the toolset has been generally finicky and dangerously unoptimized with each new version, leading me to not update it from v3.0for quite a while. However, this major update seems to be extremely promising so I sprung for a PC-only Update Plan to jump versions from v3.0 to v5.x - you should start seeing smoother lines in my art as I get used to the new Smartshape options they added.

I've tended to have very trashy line art when I work because the vector tools the program has used previously have been totally exclusive to each other and it makes editing lines very hard even in vector mode. This version implements some pretty wild vector-ish smoothing methodologies when laying down those lines, though it's not retained once you drop out and draw another line unless it's done in a vector layer. Hopefully it means I can visualize shapes better.

and if It doesn't work out, no worries... the first month's free and the subscriptions have always been significantly cheaper when applied to a previously owned forever license.

Looking great so far. I think I'm going to keep paying in for that update pass for CSP...

I also coined a new jargon for ASFR:

Fuck-Me-To-Tilt : the act of coitus exceeding a unit's capability to bear or process sensations or resulting sensory data. Can be used by both organics and droids, but usually used more by droids as they are the ones that actually go 'tilt' from too much incoming data and processing.
