Explain your writing style!

Post by Mirage » Wed Dec 24, 2014 1:00 am

I thought it would be fun to all who loves writing, explain our styles, what is important in our stories and such.

Please, also, no insults to others, this is for fun.

Thank you for all who assist in this.

Well, where to start... I am more of a story teller first, than a writer. I have always stories roaming in my head.

I write and draw fast. So, yes, I'll make spelling mistakes, but I don't care for proper grammer, as it bogs down my writing. I feel I rather put stuff out, keeping the story fresh in my mind NOW, than spend hours fixing all my booboos. Same goes for my comics. I firgure, I can always go back one day and fix them.

My style.. Well, I see my stories as somewhat little movies. I try to keep the flow always going. I don't want people to lose interest at any time. But I also make sure the story is a complete story, from beginning to end.

I not much of a fan of too much details. Some love it, I get bored easily. I like to scan stories quickly, as I can speed read too. If it's nice and compact, I'll take the time to read it.

Romance and horror, are my favorite genre, for sure. I am not much of a SEX writer. Stories always comes first for me. Sex is always in the back seat for the ride.

When I write my characters, I try
to make them realist as possible, no matter the situation. I hate generic characters, so, I give them a lot of personality, I think.

My endings, my wonderful endings, love them, or not, I try to always make it somewhat rememberable. Happy, sad or shocking, I am mostly please into how I end my stories.

Well, that's it I think for me.

Don't know if I count as a writer - I have released only the first chapters of a long story yet, though a lot of text for later chapters already exists.

I'm pretty much on the edge of realism. This partly explains why I'm so slow, I have to think about the text a lot and re-think if this is all plausible and if I still like where the story is heading to. I often throw away a lot of already arranged text because I find it's superfluous. But as English is not my native language, I'd be slow anyway. I have to look up a lot of words and check and re-check phrases if they're meaning what I want to say. Sometimes (often?) this fails or may look overarranged to native speakers, but I can't detect these problems myself. Help would be appreciated.

I'm a fan of detailed descriptions. But I don't like to punch them into the face of reader, he (she?) should unwrap the gift first. Lots and lots of colorful wrapping. Okay, the wrapping is described in detail, too. And I like my protagonists to be real persons, not archetypes, so they can always do something unexpected.

My writing style requires an editor to turn it into something far more readable!
I'm just a 'girl' who wants to become a fembot whats wrong with that?

My writing style reads more like a radio play. --or an animated cartoon. No major paragraphs describing the lilting and lovely dew on flowers, etc... just different characters saying words that will eventually direct the reader into a forced PUN or situation that's been stuck in my head for a while. I DON'T REALLY WRITE SEXY STORIES, and for that, I've gotten private Emails over the years saying my funny stuff shouldn't BE on the boards. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I know what I write isn't everyones' cup of toffee. Don't read it if you don't like it... ------but I DO like it when someone chimes in to try and change things up at times .... gives me a chance to improvise. I treat my fembots like my DAUGHTERS, or beings I want to help OUT. HUMANS and TECHNOLOGICAL WONDERS trying to figure each other out. Not FAP WORTHY? ---it's not SUPPOSED to be. It's all in FUN, and I want to be DIFFERENT than just the usual "Can I BONK it?" story.
...From my HEART and from my HAND
WHY don't people understand my intentions?

My stories often hit me when I am not looking for them, often at work. I will see or hear something, and it will set off a massive brainstorm in my head until it forms into a story. With the story formed, I choose models for the fembots, sometimes even use people I know, and then, when I have gathered the focus to start writing, I begin. Sometimes several stories brew in my head at once...

With my stories, I try and be as detailed as possible, while still maintaining proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. More than that though, I try and invoke a feeling in my stories, the same feeling I feel when I play the story in my head. I try and make my stories as different and my own as possible, while still sticking to themes people are accustomed to. I may even try my own take at a theme already presented, but embellish it with my own personal taste. Recently, I am trying to redefine what exactly an android will be, now that we can conceive of more ways to make them more realistic. Still, I write stories where the androids are super realistic, both in their appearance and behavior, but I am currently working on stories where the androids may or may not look totally real, and may or may not have perfect human-like personality emulation. I like to try all sorts of ideas.

Also, as I am sure many of my readers are aware, I almost always have the male human character temporarily inhabit the body of a fembot, and sometimes an android duplicate of themselves. I feel it really helps to not only show off the fembot, but to get inside them as well....allow the reader to experience what it is like to be a fembot/android.
