Re: Consequences: part 2
Another nice installment! A large turn-on of mine is seeing intelligent androids controlled by commands and having conscious thoughts about it, and this certainly delivered that. Twice. The first scene with Duncan was particularly excellent as it had her actively attempting to work around the restrictions he'd place on her to accomplish a goal. It builds a unique sort of tension that can't quite be felt with any other type of character. ... And it gets me rock-hard, which is always a plus.
I actually just really enjoyed that scene in general. Duncan's angry rant was fun, and OS's solution was actually really smart: Hey, I'm a lot more durable than he is. If I were to crash this car....
It was also nice to see that even when OS thinks she's won, she's really in even deeper shit than before. I enjoyed seeing the stakes raised in the final scene, and I can't wait to read further.
... Also, I just have to point this out: I can't help but imagine Duncan and his "shit-stain of a partner" as the villains from Home Alone. Two criminal New Yorkers, with the 'boss' being shorter with a higher-pitched voice, and he likes abusing his partner. Yeah.... I apologize.

You know, I'll take this as the good news I've been waiting for and just ignore that last little bit to the story. La-la-laaa...
Curse you for putting that image in my head.Robjoe wrote:... Also, I just have to point this out: I can't help but imagine Duncan and his "shit-stain of a partner" as the villains from Home Alone. Oh. Uh. No, it's cool! It was a 100% happy ending if a bit grim. That last bit about one last loose end? It's uh.LongTimeLurker wrote:You know, I'll take this as the good news I've been waiting for and just ignore that last little bit to the story. La-la-laaa...

Of course I still can't shake suspicions that fate isn't quite done with her... yet

Ducks, huh? With her luck, the bread would just jam her hand motors.DarkRexx wrote:It's ducks. She needs to feed some ducks. Spoilers!

I'm starting to get curious about what the test includes now. Pass or fail, would it would really push OS's aging systems to their limits, or maybe test to see if she can detect and block subtle ways of controlling her? Have to wait until part 3 to find out.

Just wanted to hop in and say that I've been reading OS's adventures since you started this series and I'm eager for more. I'm also quite curious about the nature of the test, from both a titillation and a cognitive-science perspective (rare that those intersect, in my experience
).
