I really, really like the officer and how vulnerable she is.

Rexx,
Great story and brave call. Nothing lasts for ever; the sadness of 1138's destruction (even though you drew the sting some with a chance for resurrection of a sort) is a credit to the depth of the character you created. Really impressive in a relatively short story about a girl with a number for a name! Good supporting cast too, all well fleshed out with an economy of words that I'm jealous of!

Great story Rexx! It certainly broke from the traditional plots, and it did it right! Well done!

I just wanna say thank you very much to everyone who has read my stories. Comments or not the community here at FBC makes me happy to write for, and I love doing it.
Though... I think I'll be taking a break from very depressing and serious stories for a while.

Quite the pleasing story. The ending was sad, but who knows, some day there may be more happy times for OS.

Re: Consequences: Part 3
I had a sneaking suspicion poor OS wouldn't survive the ultimate confrontation, and I'm honestly glad I was right. As easy as it is to want to see the protagonist come out ahead in most [well-written] stories, OS is a character defined by her struggles. If her litany of faults were addressed, she'd lose a lot of her flavor. If she came out mostly the same as she started, the story wouldn't feel complete. It's not an easy decision, but sometimes the best thing for a character is to be put to rest.
It's been a gripping ride overall, and I applaud you for maintaining the integrity of OS's character throughout. You keep reading because you really do want to see her succeed, but her demise is inevitable. Well done.
... And for the record, the fake-out with Nicole's boot-up sequence hurt a lot more than the image of OS's processor getting blasted. What a pit in my stomach.
