Recently, I've been laser-focused on seeing stories through to the end, as typically I have a dozen or so stories (both short-form and long) languishing in some form of development/writer-block hell at any given moment...
Writing bits of 'flash-fiction' that accompany (what is in my mind a simple/dynamite manip concept) helps me to see these stories through to fruition (also keeping the scope down so they stay short/small).
