Hey Dollfans!!!

I didn't want to jump in here but I am going to....

We have been developing "Roxxxy TrueCompanion" (our sex robot's name) for many years... Now that we are almost ready to unveil her at the AVN show in Las Vegas, I am receiving many, many quesitons and the anticipation is also driving me crazy!!!

We are a US based R&D company that has been involved in the doll community and robotics for many years.

Since so many people are asking what www.TrueCompanion.com is all about, I felt like I needed to jump in here.

We really can't release more info about her until the AVN show in Las Vegas in January since we have made commitments to several news outlets to provide all the detail at the show!

This is SO COOL that I am really looking forward to sharing her with you!

If you want to receive more information as soon as we can release it, pls go to our site and click on Subscribe and enter your info. We also will be offering significant discounts and free upgrades to the first group of iDollators that subscribe. For those that get involved in this, all we ask is that you share your experiences as you start your relationship with "Roxxxy TrueCompanion".

I look forward to telling you all about her and sharing her with you - in more ways than one!!!

:)

Peace,

Douglas

Thank you for posting here. It's nice to have the creator of the TrueCompanion himself show up. I have two questions about subscribing I should ask, though.

1. If I subscribe, does this automatically mean I'm making a purchase, or just receiving news updates, et cetera? Unfortunately, with my current financial situation, it's unlikely I can afford a TrueCompanion at the moment even with a discount, and I just want to make sure I'm not agreeing to a purchase I can't make.

2. Most of the TrueCompanion page has forms for filling out. Are these all the subscription form? I filled out the form to hear more about the products (under the "Products" section) and I'm not sure if this means subscribing as well.

Hey, I appreciate the nice thoughts as well as your questions.

No, if you subscribe, it is just to be subscribed ot our newsletter, press releases and all the inside scoop as we make info public - that's all.

If you decide to buy "Roxxxy TrueCompanion", it is a separate process - but she cannot be purchased until the AVN tradeshow when we announce all of her features, etc.

All you have to do is to fill out the Subscribe and that will serve the purpose of getting you in the loop.

Well, back to work...

:)

Peace,

Douglas

Hm, I'm suspicious. It has all the usual markings of a fake. Still, I'll wait and see.

Hmm,

Well, if it comes out, I'll be excited. Still, "in development for many years"? The problem is I suspect that the things people could imagine five years were nothing compared to today.

The thing is that robotics is moving by leaps and bounds. US military is putting vast amounts of money into prostheses. I was looking at a serious academic article about how to make touching a robot hand feel natural. It looked at the "give" that a human has and how to achieve that.

The best stuff is going to come when this technology and other work gets routed back into this application.

But I wish luck to everyone...

So it seems. Good to know. Anybody know if there'll be some kind of live stream or something?

hi all

Some thoughts are bumping around in my head. Wicked Productions the folks that brought us 2040 have teamed up with Realdoll to produce licensed
Realdolls of some porn actresses http://www.dollforum.com/modules.php?na ... 709#308194 has a discussion and pics of two of the dolls Jessica Drake and Electra Blue both of them were apparently in the film 2040.

http://coverdoll.com/drupal/?q=node/792 has the same pic and a vid of the dolls by the creator of Realdoll.

I know I am stepping out on a limb here with my correlation, as all of this seems very hush hush. But could they be related in some way to true companions?

That's it? Seems all my excitement was in vain. :(

In a related note, there's a sort of joint-like hole where her neck should be, which is fairly common in some Disney animatronic. I assume her head can move, for some reason.

Yeah,

The doll looks like a generic porn actress. News for some people: porn actresses aren't chosen 'cause they have the look men crave for a sex partner. Porn actresses are chosen 'cause they are willing to make porn movies. Future doll makers, please look to the Hollywood (non-porn) stars for your future dolls.

Still, the question of realcompanion isn't appearance but functions. For the right price, it seems there are superlative looking dolls and realCompanion could always be reskinned or have a new model created.

She was billed as a robot. What does she do?

according to posts about AVI "It" is to be fired up on Sat. Wonder what 8 track they might use ...something from the Be Gees is my guess...lol. So no idea what actions it will or won't be capable of. Or price !

I'm a little more concerned about the visible seam on the doll - if it's merely a prototype and this will be engineered out of sight in the final model this is irrelevant, but sex is a messy and fluid-intensive sort of fun, and I don't think it would be a good idea to have the innards of the doll putting out (or worse, admitting) any fluids. could be a shock hazard at the right voltage.

Perhaps we should ask Catherine if she is "BOVERED" by it.

A hoax or even fraud?

The creators of Roxxxy claim she can do lots of things up to carrying a conversation, but in the videos she is only sitting there. Might be a custom Realdoll without anything else for all we know.

So I wouldn't pay any money for it until there is a more meaningful demonstration.

I'm actually WAY more impressed by AIKO and how far SHE'S gone in such a short time..... If Aiko's creator had unlimited money and assistants, imagine what could be accomplished....I actually would like to see him hired by HONDA to work on HRP-4C.....SHE'S GOING TO NEED TO DO MORE THAN WINK AND LOOK SURPRISED in the future.
