There's a freebie called Rar Extract Frog, I believe - works like a charm

It takes all of 5 minutes to download and install WinRAR (if you know where to look). If you're one of the crazy people that shudders at the thought of using software without paying for it yet has no compunction about sharing pictures and video, they provide a free "unrar" tool. ;-)

Also available as a bittorent and on the emule/edonkey network...

Also, as a movie, Surrogates is pretty much in the "flawed, has moments category". Indeed, the over-the-top-chase-violence stuff could be turned down 90%, it could be a good, disturbing future-view movie.

Indeed, the reality that Surrogates projects seems utterly implausible in terms of intuition yet it seems very plausible given what Ray Kurzweil talks about in his singularity writings. The sad thing for us, though, is that Kurzweil somehow skips the terrifying parts of the coming singularity - how incredible technology will give every unbalanced person incredible abilities (especially since the power a person has, the more their unbalanced, violent and so-forth side comes out). Surrogates was actually kind of optimistic in the sense it implied that a way of keeping most people from abusing the hell out of the potential of surrogates would be found and only select few would be impersonating others and using surrogates for mayhem whereas that would seem like the second or third thing people would think of doing with the things if they suddenly came into existence.

Uh, and I'd suspect that in the real world, surrogates and plain-old-robots would kind-of merge.

Well, sorry for the rant but I hope you find it has some content...
