Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard

Not sure if it's been mentioned here yet, but an interesting find I stumbled upon recently...

If you haven't heard of the game, it's a third-person shooter in the vein of Gears of War (i.e. hide behind cover, kill baddies, move to the next cover spot, repeat). It's also got a nice dose of humor in it, making fun of other games and even other genres (even a few pop culture references in it). It has the voice talents of Will Arnell and Neil Patrick Harris, so it's actually pretty decent. Worth a rent at least, not QUITE sure if it's worth the $50 US it's going for right now.

Anyway, there's two spots I found that happen relatively early on in the game. The first spot is in the second level, where you have to storm an underground casino in a nightclub. There's a part where you go onto the dance floor and as your assistant explains to you, the women move less than usual because they're anamatronics, in order to save memory on the game. Up close, you can see joints on them and everything, and they make some sort of "de-rezzing" effect when they get hit and get destroyed.

The second instance is throughout the second half of a level just past that one (believe it's in level 4 or 5). A guy has robotic doubles of some of Matt's previous "encounters" with females in his earlier games, and this is the one I think people here would really enjoy. In order to stop them, you must first shoot them until they shut down (complete with sounds and animations, bending over into a "toe touch" position). After that, you have to melee them to stop them for good, or is you leave them be, they reactivate (again, with sounds and animations) and start shooting you again, with sparks and a bit of smoke coming out from them. Not sure if they eventually blow up for good by shooting them, but you can shut them down at least two or three times before they die. These women (at least two of them) are also parodies of video game characters - one's dressed a bit like Tomb Raider and has a British accent, and the other is a spitting image of Joanna Dark from the Perfect Dark games.

Anyway, just letting you guys know about this. Overall, the humor in the game is pretty good (just youtube the "fps vs. jrpg" video from it for an idea of what to expect).

Any good links to screenshots or Youtube vids? I'd love to see this.

Sounds nice. i might rent it. Because the reviews say the overall game is very average. compared to other 3rd person shooters
