Here is a website where you put in the address to a Youtube video, it converts it to a AVI file and allows you to download it. Enjoy

Here's a bunch of youtube links that may be of interest. I also hope none of these are repeats of earlier material. Sorry I didn't post them earlier but I just joined the site.

Very good performance by a human marionette at a renaissance fair.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=5TqJBMrl2js

A music video by The Kinks with some robot content (including one fembot).

http://youtube.com/watch?v=2JdLKp5QNYY

Performance by Tik and Tok featuring Pamela Stephenson as a fembot. Some good action here.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=wi50m7sjyXc

Tik and Tok on a British kids TV show featuring Barbie Wilde as a 'repairing fembot'.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=vFn__7Gem1k

Theatrical performance about a fembot finding herself trapped in a lab. Features a mix of dance and robot action.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=3RTQd2PJutc

Another marionette-type practice performance.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=zlxyglqEJAs

Well-made Small Wonder Reunion spoof featuring an adult Vicki fembot. She eventually gets banged and shuts down.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=t1c8haUURn4

Austrian performance featuring a Ballet dancer acting as a wind-up doll. Decent wind up action with some malfunction as well. Most of it is just ballet though.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=KaK1hdEmof0

Video of an actual (quite lifelike) automaton from the 19th century. Not my particular interest, but I just thought it was pretty well made.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=k_g7ISS9nFA

Clip of various walking acts by a Belgian Troupe called Teater Exces. Features two different actresses portraying dolls/fembots. They also have a website which might have more robot content.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=KSBmIuDX0Yo

Clip featuring a woman posing as a 'moving mannequin'.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=LcZ0T8C1iA4

Another production video featuring actresses as fembots presenting products. This one has very good quality action (I really like the blue lady!)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=AuvF--omxIE

Live Performance of Sandie Shaw's 'Puppet on a String' featuring dancers as wind-up dolls.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Upfx2LMN7r8

And finally various clips of robotic performances during different presentations of the Coppelia Ballet.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=mjgC6toTZKc
http://youtube.com/watch?v=6EzKPJqYB8k
http://youtube.com/watch?v=1kk2J9Stxmg
http://youtube.com/watch?v=loP0bCqG11I

Ok... I think that's pretty much all I got. Enjoy!

EDIT: Fixed a removed link issue.

Just dug up a few more clips of a mannequin/fembot doing some product presentation.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ELNXPvk4Css
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Y1CVZ16m8HA
http://youtube.com/watch?v=J5TkgzvIHX4

And here are a few clips from the Brazilian performance troupe Vitrine Viva on a kids show in Argentina (Xuxa I think) acting as androids. The woman is pretty talented (though a tad scary!)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=qc5jvKuNclE
http://youtube.com/watch?v=In2_MdvqmLA
http://youtube.com/watch?v=2BdjdF-Aj2o

There are several more clips if you want to search under 'vitrine viva' on youtube. Most of them feature the same group in various venues. [/url]

I'm new to the forum.

This is a couple months old, but I didn't notice it on a quick scan of recent posts.

Hope you enjoy it:

Lol, no, nanobot, that's a new one, and a niiice one!

It's good to see unrelated interests providing us with fodder. But I wish there was just a little bit more pointed explicitly in our direction.

Frederator Studios has created Fred-Ex, an ongoing experiment in animation collaboration exploring the existence of robots. Frederator has assembled a global group of enthusiastic
animation directors and creators to answer in a toon an age-old question: "What is it like to be a robot?"

Does it count as robots? Sort of ...

But if two beautiful, spandex catsuit-wearing, monotone-speaking alien babes aren't close enough for you, well ... then ... what the hell is wrong with you??? :)

Orbots

Post by psychojester1978 » Sat Jul 28, 2007 1:21 pm

I don't know if anyone remembers this 80's cartoon...but it is very much like Voltron, except it is with robots instead of lions...they got two cute fembots in it....I think their names are Volt and Zoom. Volt masters the elements and Zoom has superspeed.

LOVED Mighty Orbots! The girl's names were Bo and Boo, Bo was the orange one, her thing was was the elements. Boo was the yellow one, her thing was illusion. ( Maybe THEY're what got me into 'bots .... hmmmmmm)

Sad part was that they got buried when Tonka sued for copyrights violations. (same year model as Gobots) Ironically, Tonka would get devoured by Transformeres by Hasbro!

Mighty Orbots was one of the first jobs I did in art school.... did fast character sheets for OHNO! --I LOVED to see the finished show on the screen, and marveled at the true quality of the series! --The main reason for the show's short ONE YEAR LIFE was the fact that it was scheduled up against CBS POWERHOUSE 'MUPPET BABIES" ...only 13 episodes were produced and ABC had a commitment with NELVANA and GEORGE LUCAS to show EWOKS/DROIDS the following year to change gears so to speak. As far as TONKA and HASBRO go.... they are ONE AND THE SAME... Tonka IS Hasbro, so there really wasn't any competition with GOBOTS or TRANSFORMERS.... just different packaging, et al... When Hasbro bought the toy licensed from BANDAI and TAKARA for all models of TRANSFORMERS/GOBOTS... the smaller ones with simpler parts were placed in the GOBOTS line for younger hands to transform and collect. Hasbo is HUGE... I deal with them every year when we show our boardgames....they've even ripped my ideas off on two occaisions. --but we still have to show 'em our stuff...because of who THEY ARE. -- minkwheel

WHY don't people understand my intentions?
