Post sightings of gynoids showing up in unlikely places here.
The least likely place of all to find fembots--Unknown Armies, a surreal occult/horror RPG. The Mechanomancers gain magick charges by working on their "babies," which are convuluted machines made from retro materials--nothing common post-1800. By using Significant charges, they can create "human sized machines" that can be in the shape of, say, beautiful women. (They actually give a rule for making a "beautiful" clockwork.) However, to actually make a gynoid or similar device-a-majig, they have to either A) integrate a historically significant piece of machinery into the device or B) burn part of their memory. It's a high price being a spellcaster.
Hey, what do you know, 100 posts.

Oddly enough, Unknown Armies 'bots are called Clockworks due to their grossly outdated materials. See above, though--it's called "magick" (mage-ick) because 1. it works and 2. the price is usually crippling. You could, for instance, "create life" with a Major charge, but that would entail forgetting--say--the woman you love ever existed, and instead make a Stepfordy soulless freak machine. Which, oddly enough, some of our esteemed colleagues would enjoy.handle wrote:It's quite interesting, the fact that we actually have certain gynoids known to us that are essentially "Magick Inside". Maybe it's something we should expect in ASFR: we already have clockwork dolls.
And then again, any science taken to its extreme end becomes a form of magic, they say
On a non-current-obsession note:
...Okay, more Unknown Armies-erie. Here's a dollmage from the official fansite.

Here's a new one. The typically mind-numbing kid's anime D.I.C.E. has a gynoid in this episode, a cute purple-haired lass-o-tron named Leanne. Humanoid in shape, with a humanlike face and garishly-colored hair. Her hands are fairly human as well. The rest of her is gussied up in a silver bodysuit-shell. Her name is Leanne, or Leahanne, or however you'd spell that.
I'll have to Google this one up...
