ASFR in the 25th Century?

Post by ~? » Wed Nov 17, 2004 7:21 am

With the release of "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century : the Complete Series" on DVD I wanted to see if anyone remembered any ASFR content in the show. This would include mind control, hypnosis or freezing.

I checked on a post that araenae made about some "small people" and it appears to have been an episode where "seven dwarves" have never seen a woman and decide to examine Wilma by stripping her with their minds. If anyone has seen this, was it like mind control or was she completely aware and just having her clothes pulled off?

I don't know, I've always liked goofy shows like this and Erin Gray was hot in those bodysuits she wore but I just can't recall how good the show was over all. Any opinions?

That still stands out as one of my favorite episodes of that show, even 20+ years afterward.

The basic premise was, as you said, seven dwarves had never seen a woman before, ie: "You have bumps!"

Pause now while you enjoy the rather amusing mental picture...

Wilma becomes very leery of the little people's rather invasive questions, which escalates to them using their awesome mental powers to commence stripping poor Wilma of her clothing. Yes, she is totally aware of what is happening, and is quite distressed at the situation. She runs out of the room, chastising Buck for picking up these people, etc. etc.

Probably worth watching if you like that sort of thing...

The dwarves were doing it telekinetically if I remember rightly. Not much there.

The episode 'SPACE VAMPIRE' however... there was a lovely mind control episode. Some damn good sexy sultry-ness out of Deering there.

Another episode, which had the big glowy geometric Draconian Space Cannon terrorizing earth also had something for ladies, or men that ever imagined themselves as male mechanicals. Princess Ardala had three android copies made up of Buck in order to have their way with them. But each had messed up programming cos TWIKI gave him an electric shock that messed up his brain scan when they made the master print from Buck.

Ardala tests each, looking to seduce or have a good time with it, but because it doesn't quite act like Buck, she rather ruthlessly shuts each android down with a remote. Some nice male startup/shutdown moments there for those interested in such things.

I seem to recall some other episode(s?) involving a penal colony run by androids. Buck was smuggled in on a prisoner transport with the (regrettably male) pilot chatting happily to the passengers. Buck (or possibly Wilma: Haven't seen the episode in ages) opened a panel on the pilot's neck to reprogram him.

Did anybody notice how Buck Rogers became a complete ripoff of Battlestar Galactica, in both story and effects?

If memory serves, weren't BSG and BR on at about the same time?

(on different stations and times, obviously...)

And, weren't they produced by the same company? Maybe that's why the effects and stories were fairly similar...

Indeed so, Both were Glen Larson productions. So when they basically made the second season of Buck Rogers a mirror image of Galactica (Earth heading out into space looking for its legendary forebears) I was not too surprised. Of course, it was a fanfic crossover waiting to happen. (I was always proud of my Quantum Leap/Time Tunnel crossover)

I always thought Creighton was a cool robot - pompous arrogant, and he could put his hands on hip where-his-hips-would-be-area.
