Ghost in the Shell: Innocence

Post by goldengun009 » Mon Oct 25, 2004 8:31 am

Hey gang,
Just Ghost in the Shell: Innocence yesterday at the movies. Good gynoid content. Removal of faces, open panel, and examination of broken parts. Found it available on DVD in Japan, though not sure if there is a U.S. release planned.

Gofish Pictures, a division of Dreamworks specialising in anime releases, has picked up the option to show this movie in America a while ago. The release has already happened, but the main issue here is that anime is still not really considered a mass-market media option by some morons, so they won't go and flood the market with multiple screens like they would with some normal, bankable (I use the term loosely) Holywood blockbuster. Barring any horrid takings in the cinema, the DVD release should happen within the usual 6 months after first screening as it does with most other movies nowadays.

You'd be right about that. Try looking here for the date your town or city will host screenings of the movie.

Coincidentally, iFilm hosts the first 8 minutes of the movie as it does for many other recent A-list movies. Try looking there too if you need to whet your appetite.

Ye gods... this movie about took off the top of my head it came at me so fast and hard. All pay heed. HEAVY philosophical imagery and discussion of the concepts of Man and Machine merging. The motives and reasons man and the individual might pursue it from an evolutionary standpoint. A pretty darn good cyberpunk whodunit mystery. Lots of Gynoids. (And I do mean lots) Old faces like Batou and Togusa. And as for the Major... that's something else entirely. Beg Borrow or steal to get hold of this one folks. But don't go and do anything like torrent it. Because that would be wrong in the extreme.
