Re: "flawless"
I don't get the scene where he is dissecting the big chunk of meat gets frustrated and shoves the young lady off the lab table.
Is that supposed to be her heart and it's defective or something?
Perhaps this film is a little to artsy for a low brow like me

Same here....I think it was supposed to be a defective heart. I mean, she was looking tired when they left the dinner.tectile wrote:I don't get the scene where he is dissecting the big chunk of meat gets frustrated and shoves the young lady off the lab table.

Yeah I think they seem to have something inside that 'heart'. That caught my eye!
Sometimes you just gotta look at the Bryte side!

Re: "flawless"
I would really like this if it wasn't for the misogynistic implications that these women started off as humans, the man is angry not because he actually cares but because he's a control freak that can't accept failure, and because it appears that while the women-turned-robots seem content they are still showing signs of abuse such as bruises and wounds. Of course I don't want to be a buzzkill, but I'm just saying that if these women began their existence as robots and only robots it wouldn't be an issue. When we start associating them with artsy and tired messages, then it sucks. Otherwise, I honestly would have thought it was pretty hot!

Re: "flawless"
It's a tired theme, no doubt about it. I think the last time it was played with in a creative and original way was that magnificent short for "The Continuum" series, "Lisa," where the same sort of scenario supported a different kind of metaphor entirely (and one that almost turned the old misandrist cliche on its head). This? Well, it's a student film, and so mostly about showing off technique. Creativity's really more than you can hope for.
