Very nice find, that's the sort of basis for a great story, maybe somebody like Diana Knight could pick up the basic premis and run with it??

Brilliant :notworthy: :applause: :applause:

Honestly? Diana Knight could make a fembot movie about filing taxes and I'd watch it.

Great video but much too short.

Why does the lovely bot initially respond positively to the woman by smiling and then reject her advances?

I'll just write my own script in my head :)

Just read that this video is the first in a trilogy.
The second part already came out and had no fembot content, but maybe part three will....

Because in the context of the story, the bot only cares about one thing: Getting out of that room.

P.S. That video was so good, that if an open panel had popped up, I would've had a seizure.

You may be right sir.

I took it that when the door reopens the bot runs for the door seeking help from who ever opened it to stop the woman from trying to seduce her.

I haven't been able to find any information about the script. If you have, do share.

My over-analysis/theory would be that the robot simply isn't programmed for sex (or sex with women) and/or rejects it because she is programmed as something that doesn't require it but it would hinder her primary function as, say, a hostess, nanny or something like that. She wouldn't outright fight back because she may be following the three laws so she would resist up to a point and choose flight over fight. I wouldn't attach any foolish emotional reasons, though, BECAUSE SHE'S A ROBOT.

Well, though I may find it absolutely incredible that somewhere between thirty and fifty people have been credited for fewer than three minutes of footage, I have to say... job well done, everyone.

EDIT: The huge number of personal and company credits is almost certainly ascribable to the film's primary purpose; it appears to have been crafted as a demonstration of the capabilities of the Leica Summilux-C optical lens, and again, on that score, colour me impressed. It also very effectively establishes two distinct characters, in a spare but evocative setting, and conveys a great deal about each of them in a very short period of time and with no real dialogue, a feat for which voluminous credit is owed to the writers, director, sound engineers, and (especially) the actresses. That it aligns with this board's interests is a happy coincidence.

I'll certainly say that it leaves one wanting more, but then again I think that was precisely the point! The professional viewer is being asked to weigh the option of bidding on the extraordinarily expensive hardware used here, either to finish this vision, or to begin work on the next one that it's inspired. The rest of us will just have to mull it over in our own ways.

:) mee too... I was praying for some panels and stuff, but still amazing video. I was so stunned I was only able to post the link here... :)

I've found it accidentaly (as I search vimeo for robots on daily basis) but this time I've tried to filter out some of "made-by-google-android" results and used 'android' and 'fiction' keywords. Sometimes I do combine 'android' or 'robot' with 'sci fi', 'science fiction', 'sf', etc. I also recommend using phrases for "sci fi" translated to different languages.

It looks like something promising. Whether or not the filmmaker behind it will expend it in some way remains to be seen. I think the actress nailed the movements pretty well.
Sometimes you just gotta look at the Bryte side!

She's certainly cute...The sound she makes and the superhuman strength...I'm jealous.

http://vimeo.com/64952191

the funny part it's also on youtube and it was uploaded (the earliest date i've found) on 1 dec 2011... so we're missing little gems like this one all the time...
some institution should run some global registry of robot-themed ads, music videos, etc.
