Not me. Needs a fembot lead character. So anyone looking forward to the next episode
I can't bear to actually watch Episode 2 (and didn't bother with Ep. 1). I feel like I'd be tricked just as I was by the film "Surrogates": the images I've seen let me create a most excellent story; but that story will be forever ruined by viewing the source material. And so far, nobody has come out and said that Ep. 2 is excellent or worthwhile, so I'll lurk in screen grabs only.Brytestar wrote:So anyone looking forward to the next episode?

I'm not sure how you were tricked by "Surrogates" but I enjoyed "Almost Human ep 2" more than "Surrogates". Not the best thing I've ever seen but enjoyable.jolshefsky wrote:I can't bear to actually watch Episode 2 (and didn't bother with Ep. 1). The biggest thing was there was a production shot of a half-completed surrogate woman (pseudo-bra/panties-clothed skin on one side, robot parts on the other) that never made it into the movie. Oh, and that shot of a woman peeling off another's face: all about make-up (seriously?) And rather than taking the plot anywhere interesting, it took the most boring and uninteresting turns to a lackluster finish. Here was a fascinating, erotic world to explore and the film spent all its time on the most milquetoast aspects.tectile wrote:I'm not sure how you were tricked by "Surrogates" but I enjoyed "Almost Human ep 2" more than "Surrogates".
There really is nothing good about it; I can't point to a single redeeming feature. Since, at this point, I would take any of the previous variations on this same theme that I've seen over more of this show (or hell, any of the other sci-fi shows that Fox has cancelled over the last two-and-a-half decades) I've actually started hoping that this dies a swift death. For it to somehow survive when shows like "Harsh Realm" and "Firefly" bit the dust would be pitifully unjust!rs5420 wrote:Just saw ep 4... OMG, they really trying hard to get watchers bored to death! It was totally cliché from the first to the last second, sadly. Don't be surprised to see the show moved to another place in the time grid soon (and pulled out completely after season 1).
Their scripted, cliched, inorganic (ho!ho! irony) abuse of one another is not a "dynamic," nor is it even pleasant to watch, as it continuously crosses the bounds of propriety, taste, and overall appropriate behaviour; they would have to have been friends for much longer for it to be even remotely realistic. I don't even know what their names are, they're so generic, so I'll just call them Karl urban and "the black guy," with apologies to all other black guys; anyway, the black guy is a c**t, and I'd have kicked him out of the car by now if I were Karl Urban (putting nude pictures of a guy you barely know online? ordering racist live "Japanese food?" which I still can't believe they allowed on network TV, that was like "Temple of Doom" shit).Spaz wrote:I think you guys are being too critical.
I think it's a good sci-fi police show, and I really like the dynamic between the two leads...
So THAT'S who that guy is! Every time I see hom on Almost Human, I keep thinking "He could've played the Twelfth Doctor, if Peter Capaldi hadn't been cast...."shutdown wrote:I don't actually mind the show. It reminds me of a cross between the new Total Recall and a cleaner version of Dredd. I just can't get over the fact that Mackenzie Crook is in it. I keep waiting to see his wooden eye from Pirates of the Caribbean.
