"Star Trek Into Darkness" tiny tangential mention
I got to see Star Trek Into Darkness just a little while ago and an off-handed comment did not go unnoticed: (quoting Wikipedia): "The 2013 film Star Trek Into Darkness has a small scene where Carol Marcus tells Kirk that after being with him, [Christine] Chapel left for a distant station to become a nurse." That's the Nurse Chapel married to Dr. Roger Korby who ran the android-making machine in the original series' episode "What Are Little Girls Made Of?"

There's my pick for the plot of movie #3: [re]visit Andrea and company.
She would make a glorious First Mate/bed mate, for this or any other Captain Kirk.

Kinda confusing there. I thought Chapel was already a nurse at the time she was with Kirk.
Edit: Just took into consideration that the new Star Trek films are set in the early years, so then I suppose Chapel and Kirk were together, then apart, then together again.

Another extremely tangential reference from STID I feel compelled to mention... The small civilian craft Kirk & co. fly to Qo'noS in search of 'Harrison'? It's mentioned as having been confiscated after the 'Mudd incident'.
(I'm given to understand that the prequel comic details said incident and it has next to nothing to do with Harry and even less to do with hundreds of hot female androids, but clearly the screenwriters' original intent was to evoke the memory of Harry Mudd for the old-school fans.)
