I know a bit about this:

The intention was to deliberately go out of their way to make a cheesy action B-movie, like the kinds they made a ton of in the '80s and '90s. So that's why you see a lot of cliches and other stuff.

Not a lot of content for us though - the main character is actually more like the Bionic Woman than a robot.
