Someday somebody needs to explain to me how in Latin and South America, all these ugly old and out of shape dudes are always hanging out with such gorgeous women.

Goatish men with beautiful women is pretty much the go-to format for the TV that airs when any self respecting Latin American/Italian/Spanish/Portugese should have better things to do than to watch it.

Being from Latin America, I could tell it's probably for the very same reason why Ron Jeremy became a huge porn star (besides his penis): Being that ugly, it creates the illusion of "if I can do it, you can as well"

The hate spewing from the comments above. That several men would compare the looks of another guy and the female he's with is disturbing.

Maybe the women of the countrys mentioned have little use for some metrosexual type. Ever considered that?

I think Keraptis was only pointing out a trope of South American television: an old, fat guy with a model. They find this funny. If you think that, in reality, the women of Latin America don't go for the "Metrosexual" type...well, you're severely deluded. This is a part of their comedy, not part of their realistic world view of which guys get to sleep with which women.

There's no hate on those comments, much less the need to argue, that's just the old proven "ugly vs. hot" stereotype, I've seen that a lot of times on Latin American TV, and the counterpart it's not always necessarily "ugly", sometimes is just a simpleton kind of guy, or girl. Have you seen "Ugly Betty"?, that TV show is based on a Colombian soap opera of the same name, that was a worldwide hit, so much that it turned out as an American comedy series.
