Quick translation.

It's an indie movie, the premiere is/was in Tokyo at a small theater (owned by Japan's BlockBuster Video - Tsutaya)

Didn't see anything about DVD release yet, but I assume there will be.

Story summary says something about people living in domes, problems with the actor/idol community and low population (maybe not enough beautiful people, I'll reread it later), and the development of the first android idol, who is lost in the real world due to some kind of accident during a photo shoot, and she meets a guy on the streets. The lab is chasing her, the guy probably fights for her.

Definintely looking forward to it. If it goes into general video rental release, a torrent will probably appear. Will keep you posted.

just saw it on Friday

Well, I saw Electronic Girl on Friday (its last showing) at the Shibuya Theater Tstuaya, like Andoroido mentioned. It was great because Miss Maya Koizumi (who played the titular character) was there before the movie started. She gave away some signed items (coin purse, hankerchief, etc.). Unfortunately, there was an opportunity to take some photos, but I forgot my camera! Damn...

As for the movie, it was pretty good, though a bit lacking in the fembot-ness department. It was mostly conveyed through robotic movements (walking or head turning), but there were a couple scenes where both the main character and another android played a static-like sound from out of their mouths. That's about it. Still, a good movie.
