Any actoids out there care to contribute their voice?

Post by fection » Tue Aug 12, 2008 10:42 am

Hello there.
(I wasn't sure exactly where this should go, so 'Reports' it is...)
I've got this idea for a short animation and (a little ironically?) I'd prefer not to resort to using a voice synthesizer if possible. If any of our female members would be interested in providing just a few lines, feel free to send me a PM.
The scenario I have in mind is a basic take on a guy coming home to his fembot. No sex, but an ending that some here might call predictable coming from me.
I'll even name-drop you in the credits!

I'll certainly do the male voice for you if you like. I've a good condenser mike and recording setup to put it together with. I'm a baritone that can range into a female contralto if necessary. (Weirdly enough, I did one of Robotdoll's stories, and someone asked me who the woman's voice was once. I felt weirdly flattered.) Anyway, do let me know. I'll check back here if you like.

I'd like to do it but I cant' seem to figure out my MacBook's microphone situation. I know I have one and it seems to pick up sounds but I'd have no idea what program to use to record with or if it'd even work. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know, and if they work I'll gladly give recording it a shot.

Hi! --if GARAGEBAND came with your MacBook...then THAT can be used to record your voice, and you can make a podcast or send the parts directly into iTunes as an mp3. There are only a few simple steps to set up recording your voice... it's quite easy. --have fun experimenting. --minkwheel

Oh sweet! I am so excited to see your animation! I know you are spending a lot of time on your perfect woman project but even your simpler and less time consuming projects are simply amazing!

Thanks for the advice! I'll try this later today or tomorrow with GarageBand and see what I can come up with :)

That'd be sweet! I don't have a mac, so I don't know how to use Garageband, but I have heard it's pretty easy. I friend of mine recorded his electric guitar with the amp pointing at his mac and got a pretty good sound (!!) so the in-built mic must be pretty good too.
I guess I should get to work on a script of sorts...
And Winterose I think there will be a male voice (or two) required, so maybe we could do one each....
