Prometheans, the Constructs and the Unfleshed

Post by ChaosWolf » Mon Aug 13, 2007 11:59 am

White Wolf Games, creator of "Vampire: the Requiem", "Mage: the Awakening", and "Werewolf: the Forsaken", have done it again. Their newest RPG line, "Promethean: the Created" takes the mythos of Frankenstein, Der Golem, Pygmalion, and other materials-made-men and puts their unique "World of Darkness" spin on things.

But what has this to do with fembots?

Two things.

Using "Construct" templates from the "Magnum Opus" sourcebook, rather than scavenged corpses being used to create your character, they can be also made of inanimate materials like wood or plastic (Roll a Galateid, and have her unearthly beauty be formed partly from a store manikin, for example; or create a Tammuz, and her body might be shaped from carven stone)

Also, in the "Saturnine Night" sourcebook, come the real Fembot bonus. A new lineage for your character to come from - the Unfleshed. Unfleshed are mechanical inventions animated by the Divine Fire and given life. The Divine Fire gives them human form and shape, but underneath the illusion, they are still mechanical.

It's not much, I suppose, but even a little is better than nothing at all.
