James Masters (Buffy's Spike) is set to play the android supervillian Brainiac in six episodes of Smallville most likely beginning in late October. Perhaps a Lanabot is the the works as well???

Not to burst any bubbles, but from what I've heard the version of Brainiac they're going with on Smallville is not so much the classic Silver Age 'humanoid computer'... more the post-Crisis 'alien intelligence (Vril Dox) possessing body of human with latent psychic powers (Milton Fine)'. I could be wrong, though.
