I wonder how many folks around here would watch the movie just to glimpse her?

Considering I'm a fan of metallic fembots (i.e., ones that DON'T look perfectly human until the panels pop open, but still look like machines), I'm already considering buying a titcket... er, ticket.

My guess ? CGI, like everything else in the Prequels. They didn't even bother design something new for TC-14 in TPM. In fact all robots were recycled from existing designs or new CGI.

Though I suspect that that may be changed when Lucas starts to work on the prequels and "fix" them.

Speaking as a NON-fan of the prequels (story-wise..though
design-wise they are "pretty") but playing devils
advocate design-wise the reuse of designs we have seen
in the films from the 1970's-80's makes sense since those
designs were supposed to be derived from units which
already existed....

That said I must say I like the Soryama-esque version...

BTW, speaking of Star Wars and the prequels....anyone else catch
the recent episode of Robot Chicken on Cartoon Network here in
the US, which had a sequence of Darth and Luke as seen in "Empire..."
as Darth tells Luke ALL the secrets we find out so far ? Lukes
ultimate response made me laugh my tush off !

TC-14 : repaint a C3PO and give it a female voice. I'm sorry if that isn't being lazy ...

I don't look at it from any ASFR point of view, but they could at least have given it a different head, or changed something. They had three different designs in Star Wars (Ep IV) alone, all based on C3PO, but quite distinctive.

Lucas doesn't care about the physical props because they can't be eternally morphed and betterified like CGI.

I generally agree...Though there is a slightly twisted logic to
the idea that in the films that are supposed to be happening
earlier in time all the bots have a similar look. And then in
"A New Hope" (ep IV) there are variants of that older style...

Just being in devils advocate mode....

Amen, I will NEVER forgive Lucas for what he did, not only with these awful prequels but with some of the garbage he did to the original trilogy in re-edit.

Yeah, the artist isn't even trying to hide it, is he? The overall design is clearly Sorayama-inspired, but the gold band on the left thigh crosses over into total plagiarism!

Perhaps that particular "graphics person" is attempting to
follow the old cliche "Great artists steal, bad artists borrow..." ?

If I made a list of everything that Lucas stole from other movies and sources ... They'd be nothing left !!!

In the case of the robot, only the lack of a visor instead of eyes and the addition of hair makes it different from Sorayama's work.
