If you're talking about Alita, she's a full-conversion cyborg in one badass super-suit. Specifically a Berserker, a nanotech body that can pull all kinds of nifty tricks.

Oh, and it can take the form of whatever gender you prefer--male, female, seething pile of elemental waste. Handy for you.

Gally/Alita has had several bodies. Her first one was scratch built from various spare parts after she was discovered in a scrap pile.

She then got the Berserker body, but switched to another to play motorball. The Berserker body was then given to another cyborg.

She then got a high-tech "Tuned" body designed for spec-ops missions.

In the new series "Last Order" she got the Imaginos body which is more advanced than all the other bodies she had put together. She can change its characteristics at will and has "created" features from previous incarnations.
