There are no transformation scenes. Someone has a face plate removed, but unfortunately it's not Patricia Tallman (Babylon 5). It's a nice little story, but in the end, it's more asimov story fare crossed with a little X-Files ish conspiracy. The style of film, really just still images dissolving to other still images in black and white gave it a dreamlike and surreal feel that I'm sure was intentional. However to me it served to be merely infuriating. No evident robotness comes from Tallman, though we get people with exposed panels and some evident malfunction in the hospital scene. Ahh well...
