Futurama episode.

Post by GZ02 » Sun Oct 17, 2004 3:35 pm

Did anyone see the episode where Fry was dating a Lucy Liu 'bot? I remember something about downloading. Was the Liu-bot an actual fembot or a hologram grafted to a generic 'body'?

Anyone care to shed more info on this? Thanks.

THIS episode is from SEASON THREE and is certainly available in the BOX SET of Futurama.......no plugs....just info.....anyway, the LUCY LIU bot is actually a 'MAC COMPATABLE" blank robot .....the real Lucy is one of many 'FLOATING HEADS IN A JAR' at this point, and thru a service, pieces of her DNA are plucked out to program these bots when someone orders a 'LUCY LIU" companion.... as Fry does..... for obvious reasons, this is one of my very favorite episodes of the series....and some of the DVD commentaries are pretty funny.....LIKE...the show is set in the future, but films are still shown on celluloid....the popcorn bit that does LiuBot in at the end is a bit hard to believe, but hey....every 22 minute show has to end somehow. ---so YES, Lucy IS a robot clone in this show, and speaks normally until she comes to FRY'S name which had to be programmed in...so she'd speak normally, and then say 'PHILLIP J. FRY" in a quick monotone each time his name would have to be spoken. --minkwheel

I love that show. Another episode of notice would be the one where Bender starts going out with a female bending unit named Coillette (who used to go out with Bender's "evil" twin, Flexo).

Oh, and it was Futurama that gave me the inspiration for my name here. In the episode where Zoidberg's race invades Earth, when Zap Brannigan unwittingly hands the codes to Earth's defense system to one of those lobster people.

Zap: "What's your name, cadet?"
Lobster (nervously): "Uh, Mann, sir, Hugh Mann."
(if you can't figure it out, just say the two names fast. Hugh-Mann. Get it?)
