Fembot Central

I looked through the threads here and was surprised to not see anything on the manwha (Chinese manga) I The Female Robot. I would have thought that one would have been known here. Here's a link to read it on-line.

The storyline is Qiqi a brilliant scientist has a crippling disease and wants to live longer by having a robot body. She dies at 18 only to be resurrected in a robot body centuries later. The problem is, the world she finds her robot self in won't allow a sentient robot like herself to survive...

Oh, that one has been noticed, about three years ago when it was available in Chinese only. Great to hear someone finally translated it.

Well, admittedly, part of my interest in this one is I'm the scanlation group's proofreader / editor for the English version...

But as you wrote proofreader, there are a some places I encountered within the first chapters which need another round of proofreading. Mostly than/then and your/you're but also a few places where it seems to me the viewpoint/narrator of some speech bubble has been lost in translation.

I came on about chapter 7 or 8. The early ones have some issues, but those are not my fault.

As for a philosophical view, that's best saved for a separate discussion. My own views are more about the evolution of technology, future possibilities, and the implications all of that has on everything. It's complicated.

Ah, then start a thread on it. I'm interested to know what you have to say.

I'll give it some thought so I can make a good first post when I do.

One thing holding this Manwha from putting more chapters up in English is the lack of a dedicated Chinese translator. I think it's in Mandarin, but I'm no expert. If someone here can do that and wants to pull up the latest chapter and apply with Archangel Scanlations.

The translator is supposed to do several more chapters this week. Hopefully some new ones will be up for reading in early May.

To be honest, I stopped reading this comic short after the appearance of nerdo-guy, especially when it was revealed he's handsome-guy in disguise. I found myself being transported from Contra III right into Kirby's Dream Land, with no chance to break out of this nonsense. The latest chapter feels like a bad bad dream but… it's the reality, stupid!

a fantasy / supernatural action manwha and have from the start. That one has more room for giving the characters great lines in English.

The next chapter has been released for those interested. It's all character development and exposition this time. Teaser: The next chapter has some interesting panels with exposed robotic parts.

New chapter is out. This one has a fight between a fembot and another robot. She gets trashed.

Another new chapter is up. The next one is even better. Has the fembot "Butler" sharing her memories and programming with another robot among other things...

This chapter includes several clever fembot ideas including one downloading her memories to a male robot who then acts gay / yaoi towards the guy the fembot loves, not that he (the male robot) appreciates being essentially turned gay by her...

The last page has a picture of another fembot that's supposed to be showing up in the next few chapters too.

Teaser for those interested... Chapters 9, 10, and 11 introduce a new fembot and she gets into several good fight scenes with lots of robot damage and havoc.

I want to reiterate here, I do my part on that manwha (Chinese Manga) for free. Also, I'd like to see more of it myself...

Chapter 9 is out. A new fembot appears towards the end. No, I have no idea why she has what looks like giant boobs on the back of her head (maybe her brains are in them... )...

She gets into some bot and fembot on fembot violence in the next chapters. Interesting positioning and lots of damage.
