ANIME + TV > GitS: Stand Alone Complex now online
The new Ghost in the Shell television series has started to air in Japan recently and now a fansub of the first episode can be found on some peer to peer fileshare programs. I am currently downloading it and will post screen captures within the next 24 hours.

Seen it!
Wow that was excellent. It wasn't spooky and sad like the movie was, and the character design of Major Kusanagi was more faithful to the original manga. Boy she was sexy too.
Lots of 'the old ultraviolence', impossible leaping about in a Matrixish manner, exposed cybernetic parts with attendant white fluid (robots only), people speaking without moving mouths, plugging things into the backs of necks, bureaucratic maneuvering by Aramaki, and a cool opening theme sung in what is presumably Russian (Cyrillic fan-supplied supertitles make it seem probable, though I wouldn't know Russian from any other Eastern European language).
Two dead bodies, Killer robot Geishas, Multiple exploding heads, one severed leg, one broken arm, Guns of Unusual Size, Matoko Kusanagi in an outfit totally unbefitting policework, Brain-Switch Fu, Brain-Erase Fu, Outrunning-Cars-On-Foot Fu, Five stars.
Joe-Bob says check it out.
Oops, the second episode just came out of the oven - See you later.

I grabbed it on IRC from #animeone@irc.aniverse.com, but it is starting to show up on KaZaA now - 140MB. There is a fansub of episode 2 out already, but I hear the translation is not the best so I am waiting a few more days for the animeone team to get their fansub done, then I shall make more screen caps.
