Essay on A.S.F.R.

Post by adef » Tue Apr 13, 2010 8:55 am

Hello all,

I've been meaning to write to the Board for a while.

I wanted to thank you again for your thoughtful responses to my query last summer and to let you know that the resulting work, "Technofetishism and the Uncanny Desires of A.S.F.R." was the lead essay of a special issue on sexuality of Science Fiction Studies Journal (Nov. 2009).

It is an academic essay and might therefore be a bit too theory-laden for many people's tastes or interests, but if you'd like a copy, write to me and I'll send you the .pdf.

I am also open to any constructive feedback.

Btw, last summer, a Fembot Central member wrote to me to tell me that he was a former student of mine at USC. Unfortunately, I was in the midst of moving back east and starting up classes, and I dropped the ball. I'd be particularly interested in getting his feedback on the essay, so if you're out there, please write to me!!

All best,

Allison de Fren

Hi there,

instead of being inundated with email requests, you could contact Robotman, the forum moderator, and discuss getting it published to the wiki, if your journal allows it.

Unfortunately, the journal will not allow it, and I must request that if I send you a copy, you CAN NOT publish it on-line anywhere (as per the journal policy, it will be available on-line through JSTOR in two years).

Thanks for your understanding.
