I couldn't agree more. Anyone who hasn't seen this movie definitely should ... Sally Yeh delivers one of the most compelling, adorable, and even poignant robot performances in history.

And she's probably the best I've ever seen at playing a
malfunctioning/damaged gynoid.

Most other actresses seem like they're faking a seizure.
Maria actually seemed mechanical.

Agree absolutely! Sally is the pinnacle; better than the actresses in all the better known Stepford and Westworld films.
Way better than all the fembots from Bionic Woman or any other television series save the Alices from Star Trek. I don't think anyone will ever top the Alices!

Back to Maria, her robotic performance is even more remarkable given the overall mood of the rest of the picture. She could've gotten away with a much more tongue-in-cheek take on the character.
Thankfully, she put real effort into her portrayal.

I have an original copy on VHS and haven't watched it in a while. I'd be willing to give it up for $10 or so (plus shipping)...

Actually, that's not quite the case. Due to a recent re-aquisition of some old tapes I now have two copies in my possession. That is actually the case for a handful of movies. Since I only really need one copy, I would be more than happy to unload the second for a modest sum. Does that make sense?

Oh, well as long as you recognize the awesomeness that is Sally Yeh!

I think what gave me the impression that you were unfond of the movie was the way you said that you had a copy you hadn't watched in a while that you wanted to sell. I assumed it was your only copy.

I'm noticing that version is only 80 mins, where as the 'unavailable' version is 96 mins, not a good sign.

http://www.amazon.com/I-Love-Maria-Sall ... UTF8&s=dvd I got mine from here, and it is the '96 min' version.
