"Having sex with robots is really, really bad, Campaign Against Sex Robots says"
Well, I think we probably saw a campaign like this coming so it's good that the WAPO both reports in a philosophy professor's anti-sex-robot campaign and sneers derisively at it.

Sheesh... alright, let's DO talk about ethics and power inequalities for a minute; how many women and children will robot sex workers save from forced sex work, slavery, and human trafficking? We're probably not going to have "feeling" AI with emotion-based preferences by 2050, so robot "feelings" and object-oriented ontology arguments are still kind of moot. Let's worry about their feelings when they have them - in the meantime robot sex workers could revolutionize a business that's much too comfortable with human pain.

The demand for human sex workers will drastically decrease.
The mean streets are gonna get harder to survive.
Perhaps the newly-impoverished sex workers should be given robots to pimp,
and be allowed to keep the money paid for the robots' services.
