That got me to thinking...

That prop is inert - but I'd like to redesign some functionality into it.

Open the hub, and insert a vibrator motor.
Attach a soft pad/gel/shape for a comfortable rest.
Program-and-customize-your-vibrator-with-an-arduino (This part is almost trivially simple.)
Battery and Arduino with bluetooth, on/in the tail end of the cable.
Add a few lines of LEDs streaming up the cable,
and a speaker, higher up on the cable, for our favorite robot and computer sounds.
The programmed vibratory patterns would be sophisticated. I'm sure the Arduino-vibrator programmers have consulted with the ladies, and amassed a catalog of highly recommended rhythms and movements (like in classical music).
The vibrations can fool the nerves into perceiving texture, if the motor's control can be fine enough (ala "Millisecond precision spike timing shapes tactile perception" I wrote about previously).
