Another round of publicity. Nothing really new but it's here.

"Joel Snell, a robotics expert from Kirkwood College in Iowa, ‘Because they would be programmable, sexbots would meet each individual user’s needs."

The funny thing is some deeper Googling reveals that this Joel Snell is being quoted from an article in "the futurist" from 1997 ("Impacts of Robotic Sex").

Which is indicates the possibility remains mainly a topic for fiction and speculation for now.
