Do you remember what made you like A.S.F.R?
you might dont remember or thought about it.
well...in my case was a ozamu tezuka movie named phoenix 2772 that was rented to me as a little children, it was too much, i never came to see that movie again until recently that i learned the name. Also because i couldnt help like when they repaired girly robots like astroboy, so now i find androids (female)quite erotic. it makes my stomach move.

For me, it originally was a Superman comic back in the early 1970s (I forget the actual issue number, but Curt Swain was the artist) where the Man of Steel encounters android replicas of all his friends (including an android Clark Kent).
Right after that came the "Kill Oscar" episodes of The Bionic Woman and The Six Million Dollar Man, of course.
Plus the rerun of Star Trek episodes like "I Mudd" and the like.
That's where it started for me.

I'd have to say that this is a tough one, and very complex for me.
It all started with my fascination with Pinocchio as a young child. It was probably my favorite Disney movie back then. However, as I grew older, I became interested in things like Weird Science, with the girl that 2 main characters built. For me, that directly tied into a show (whose name eludes me) about a robot teenager called Chip. He really got me into robots and androids, and I started reading books about robots, including a series of children books (I was still a kid at this point) about a boy and his robot friend. I even watched Small Wonder because of the girl robot in it. Data on Star Trek was the next big robot fascination for me, I would religiously watch the show, not just because it was good, but cause Data was in it. It was around this time that I started to mature, and see girls differently. My imaginary robot friend from my childhood had gone from my buddy sidekick to my partner in crime at building and "using" fembots. This was of course all fantasy, but it became surprisingly sexual surprisingly fast for me. As I got too old for having imaginary friends, I still fantasized about having a lab filled with robot girls.
I first realized I had a fetish for robots when I got into anime a little later. Thanks to characters like Tokiko Mima (from Key the Metal Idol, and SPOILER: is not actually a robot but thinks she is but it is still filled with robots and fembots), Video Girl Ai (also not a robot but similar nature), Masato (Ghost in the Shell, technically a Cyborg), Battle Angel Alita (also a cyborg), Steel Angel Kurumi, Cat Girl NukuNuku, Lime, Cherry, Bloodberry (all 3 from Saber Marionette J), etc... (and eventually Chii from Chobits, Dorothy from Big O, and so on). It is hard to say that it was anime that made me realize it or not, since there were so many other influences. I suppose I always have been a "technosexual" ever since I was older enough to ogle girls.

Oh wow, the earliest I can remember *liking* a robot was also in Phoenix 2772 (the butchered english version that was around on VHS when I was small).
Got a copy of the unbutchered Australian dvd a few years ago expecting it to be a bit of cheesy nostalgic fun. Film is AWESOME!
Rank it right up there with animated classics like Fantasia and Nausicaa (responsible for at least two of my other kinks).
