Post by LongTimeLurker » Wed Jul 17, 2013 8:08 pm

1/5/2020 UPDATE

The current scenarios are:
* Girl Next Door
* Swords & Sorcery
* A Night at the Opera (co-written with Epitaph)
* Superheroes
* Classroom

New in this update:
* Classroom chamber, with a lot of help from Johnny Boy, Pylon, and PrussiAntique (thanks, guys!)
* Fixed links in Girl Next Door and Swords and Sorcery Chambers
* Added "Credits" page for all the contributors (let me know if I've left anyone out!)
* Added terminal and glitch effects

Not in this update:
* An actual ending :(

In progress (not playable):
* Camping
* Superhero (civilian path)
* An actual ending for real though

----

Ancient original post that is no longer relevant

This is an attempt to write a FYOP story driven by reader suggestion - for any part of the story, feel free to suggest an option on what our second-person protagonist should do! I can't promise I'll be able to field every single one, but I'll try to get a diverse field of responses (at least two per page).

If you'd like to make a suggestion, please paste the URL of the section you're responding to along with a short description of what the option should be. For example, if after reading the first section you would like to suggest that the protagonist runs away screaming, you might post the following:
And if you see a suggestion that you like but hasn't been written, please feel free to second that suggestion!

EDIT - You can also send story suggestions via PM or on the wiki

well...information about the character has not been revealed yet, i guess information about the protagonist will develop as the story advances, maybe even as flashbacks?
but since he/she has access to an EMPg she/he must have at least a little training in survival , so i think...

Just to clarify - I'm not asking for people to offer two suggestions per submission (though you're more than welcome to!), but I do I intend to put at least two options per page.
--Battery-- wrote:well...information about the character has not been revealed yet, i guess information about the protagonist will develop has the story advances, maybe even as flashbacks?
I planned on revealing bits about the world through the story, but also on having readers help define who the character is.

I figured I could combine these two - but could you be more specific with the "talk to robot"? Is the intention to find out information? Stall it? Convince it of something? (and if so, what?)

Added! And I hope this goes without saying, but if a suggestion ends a story please don't take that to mean I thought it was a "bad" suggestion. I quite like both of these!

A)talk to robot
B) keep awaY

I figured I could combine these two - but could you be more specific with the "talk to robot"? Is the intention to find out information? Stall it? Convince it of something? (and if so, what?)
Sorry about that, by talking i meant something like "don't hurt me" or "stay away" and therefore obtain some imput from the machine, would it give a useful hint? probably not, maybe it would tell something that is not going to be useful until very long or meaningless info about the place, but at least it could confirm the fact that the robot is really going to kill you and not make out with you if you choose to surrender; making you really want to find that EMPg ASAP.

i think you could add this something like "try to reason with android" and maybe it could fit in :

http://fembotwiki.com/index.php?title=F ... amber/0001
C) Reason with android

and also at :

http://fembotwiki.com/index.php?title=F ... amber/0003
A) Reason with android

and both lead to the same answer, and then lead to the character to find that EMPg or use the enviroment some how dying many times in the process :devil: .

Finally got around to adding a section to the Scenari-o-matic: Type in "Girl next door".

Still taking suggestions here or on the wiki.

Thanks!

I saw the wiki was upgraded, maybe I can save some kind of "game status" now...

I didn't have any plans to do 2 cores for all the chambers, but I'll add these to the list and get started on fleshing them out.

Scenario Room:
* The Witch and the Warrior
* First Contact
* Faustian Pact

Kishin wrote:Could also do... A Wasteland scenario (ala Furiosa), Zombie Apocalypse

I'll combine these two into a robot apocalypse... IMO, zombie robots are sexier than robot zombies ;)
Kishin wrote:(though obviously the hero has to survive),
When I started this, I intended to have a few "you died" pages (and I think there's still one in there I should take out). But since I'm not able to save a game-status, I've been trying to limit their use.

No game status also means it's impossible to track the number of cores a player has collected, so I'll eventually need to put in a "I've finished" link... or figure out how to use that program Dale linked back in the beginning.
Kishin wrote:or mundane tropes like the Boss Lady.
I love the classics!

Now on the board we have:
* Late Night at the Office
* Robot apocalypse

I should have content for the Witch & Warrior scenario soon.

It's nice that you're continueing that story.

I couldn't help but imagine that the warrior looked like that picture: http://g.e-hentai.org/s/78bdd0cda7/883829-3

Now this is a thorough pleasure to explore. Both options so far are homeruns in my book, I must say. Two thumbs up to you, LongTimeLurker!

I can, without a doubt, say that I find this form of second-person writing absolutely delightful!
Is there a way that several people can edit these things?

You have to ask Robotman for a Wiki account. Then, you can edit all the pages as you like.
Do you like or dislike my ongoing story Battlemachine Ayako? Leave a comment on the story's discussion pages on the wiki or in that thread. Thank you!

Although, and I apologize if I'm speaking out of line here, I'd ask the original author for approval of any edits of the material. LTL's material is top notch, and puts a lot of effort into it.
Just a recommendation.

Thanks for the kind words!

I encourage anyone to edit-in suggestions (on the suggestions page, as I won't see it otherwise).

If you have your own idea for a chamber to develop, go right ahead! I only ask that you put your account name in the chamber title / link to get credit.

If you want to tweak / add to something that's already there, just let me know on the suggestions page (no need if it's just typos / grammar fixes).

In all cases (as darkbutflashy mentioned) Robotman is the one to contact for an account.

What would you think of a scenario where you've stepped into an opera production?

So victorian-esque dress, with perhaps a little steampunk/gothic elements mixed in for flavour; plenty of hammy, somewhat glitchy acting; some cliches about revenge or star-crossed love. Perhaps a emphasis on keeping within the parameters of the scenario or else the whole production falls apart,- making discretion a key part of getting the cores to contrast the action of 'the Witch and the Warrior'?

It'd have to NOT be Coppelia, though as that's a ballet, and secondly, a little overdone as an example of a fembot on stage. Perhaps 'Rigoletto',- or 'Roboletta',- or a highly condensed version of either 'Turandot' or 'Madame Butterfly', which would allow for a little Asian dress to spice things up?

(I'm happy to try some of the writing for this option, but I'm terrible when it comes to figuring my way around how to input things into the site. LongTimeLurker, might you be up to giving me a hand with this if I were to send you a snippet or two?)

I think an opera would be great! I'd throw out Cosi fan tutte and Don Giovanni as possibilities as well.

PM me a snippet, I'll get it set up.

i guess i found something not right for the "Girl Next Door" scenario

if you took the core just from Amber, how do you end up at this line:
"You pry the cores from the two defunct sex-droids and exit the scenario chamber."
Fellas, you may address me as Boris, my ID could be troublesome for you to call me.
BTW, my stories would be updated without notifications.
