Work in progress: Deactivated Catgirl Gynoid

Post by gynoneko » Wed Oct 03, 2018 11:10 am

So I started working on a new drawing, and it is still in the early stages, hoping to get feedback as I go along. This is only a sketch (so please don't post it to the wiki yet). My goal here is to make 2 or 3 pictures of fembot catgirls which I can use as an icon that will be my own work and not someone else's. This is the first idea, the second is a gynoid repairing herself, and the third is one being repaired while playing games or ignoring her owner/technician. This is just one laying down with a port open and her arm missing (right now elbow down). Let me know what you think, I'll post here with regular updates.

And an update with rough lines and rough colors...

Looks good so far. You picked a tough angle to depict her from.

Thanks. Yeah, I wanted to get a dynamic angle of her laying down, so here she is laying down on a table or workbench, but I always do the backgrounds later and start with the subject first. I have a perspective grid I can use when I get down to it that should help with the angles, but doing interesting camera angles like this is fun.
What do you all think about the hair color? I was going to do a shape of blue for this one, red for another, and brown for the last. I can always change the hair color later though. Doing this all on my phone is a little challenging and takes a little more time cause I am constantly zooming in and out and change brush sizes and going in and out of the layers... can't wait to get a larger tablet to work on. I plan to keep using my phone to draw when I don't have my tablet, but I really want to get the ability to add a ton of detail and control that a tablet and stylus will bring. Till then, I'll keep chugging on with these phone drawings.

This is still just a rough sketch, I plan to go through and redo all the lines, and then clean them up while doing her robotic seams on a different layer. After the lines are reworked I will work on the finer details and then redoing the base color. After the base color is in, I will start adding light sources to get highlights and shadows and blending them in. Once I am satisfied, I will add clothing. I'm thinking either a bikini, a bra, or a see-through spaghetti strap top. I am debating what her insides will look like and if I want to keep her stomach or have her cut off and exposed there too like on her arm.

I don't have strong preferences about hair color; they each have their own charm. That said, unnatural colors like blue or purple do work well in ASFR because they highlight the character's artificial nature.

Anatomy and angle look pretty solid to me, so I can't really give much other than minor things. Lookin' good so far.

I'm not sure if hairlines are that close to the facial features, but then I don't know what hairstyle you're going for so that might not be the hairline.

If that's a seam you've got running along her side it should probably curve the other way when it hits the ribs, right now it makes the sides of them look kinda flat.

I figure you could probably add more definition along the center of the ribs and stomach, but that's probably more a stylistic choice and you might be leaving that for shading rather than inks anyway.

Got a new iPad with the pencil, been practicing with it. Decided to start over on this image. I think it has gone pretty well so far. Still has a lot more to go. Any feedback?

For some new updates, almost done. Just wondering with or without the makeup... opinions?

There are a few more changes to come, but here is a nude version that should better show the lines, let me know what you think and if they look fine this way or not...
