Ripping streaming video?

Post by tectile » Tue Apr 28, 2009 5:45 am

Does anyone know of a good way to record streaming video from the CBS website. I've tried several things and done a good bit of research and nothing seems to work.

I'm running Win XP and Ubuntu linux.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Last time wanted to grab some streaming vids I used URL Snooper 2 and copied the addies into some download manager (can't remember which - soz). Found I had to copy and DL immediately though (within a few seconds of the embedded doodad 'phoning home').

Anyhoo GL.

Thanks for the suggestions guys but I had already tried them all with no success.

The problem does seem to be getting the real URL of the shows stream.

The URLs for the commercials show up with no problem since people don't mind if you record their commercials but the show content is really hidden somehow. I suspect their is an applet in the page that redirects you to the URL for the show content.

Sure you're not overlooking something? URL Snooper works a treat.

If your browser is requesting a URL, then http://www.fiddler2.com/ will give it to you, since it watches all HTTP traffic.
