language translation software?

Post by tectile » Tue Oct 24, 2017 1:29 pm

Since we have members from all around the world, I was wondering what kind of language translation software has worked for you.
I'm playing around with the Google translate app and so far it looks pretty impressive.
I'm mostly interested in speech to speech translation and not so much in text to text.
There are a bunch of apps that are not free and I wouldn't mind paying some $ for something that works well.
Your thoughts?

I want something that works with any of the common languages. French, German, Spanish, Japanese Russian etc.
From what I've read, most translators have a tough time with Japanese so if you have a dedicated Japanese to English translator in mind, I would be interested.
Thanks.
