Ajit Pai sucks (KEEP NET NEUTRALITY ALIVE)

Post by DukeNukem 2417 » Thu Oct 19, 2017 1:12 pm

Should've mentioned this sooner....

We already lost the FTP thanks to Comcast. If Ajit Paj his his way, we ALL lose.

Oh, and for those of you whose senators support the utter butchering of Net Neutrality: next election, vote their asses out of office.

SOPA and PIPA died off because people protested. DO NOT let some wanker like Ajit "hard on for the slow lane" Paj ruin everything good about the Internet.

Oh, I always thought Dale got tired of hosting the FTP.

Nah, it's because American ISPs are monolithic and unchecked juggernauts always looking to maximize profits, in Dale's case putting outgoing traffic above 1Tb/month behind a paywall, despite this kind of traffic being peanuts to the infrastructure.

Pai is trying to schedule the hearing on his order to kill Net Neutrality this Wednesday, when he thinks nobody's going to care.

Do the Internet a favor, and prove him wrong. Call your senators and such, tell them why Net Neutrality is a good thing.....do whatever it takes to get them to reject his stupid ideas.

Precisely what I've been thinking. Just look at all the stuff that's trending on most social media sites at the moment: Thanksgiving; Black Friday, etc. He's picked pretty much the perfect week to sneak something under everyone's noses.

Also, for those who live outside the States but would like to weigh in on the issue as Net Neutrality in America affects the rest of the world, directly or indirectly, I would recommend looking here: https://www.freepress.net/action

To update this thread I just found this out.

“Why the video?”

Because there is a REALLY good analogy that I believe demonstrates the point now the video itself.

On the plus side, Ajit and his whipping boys seem have run afoul of a handful of procedural laws in their haste to push this through. Seems to be a major problem for many of Trump's appointees...namely, they understand neither the laws they are toying with, nor the other laws that establish the legal methods they must operate under. And one by one they're learning that simply ignoring a law doesn't make it go away. So now the lawsuits begin!
