Clear unread posts as read?

Post by andoroido » Tue Jul 26, 2011 10:10 am

Since the board got revamped I've noticed a small trifling little annoyance for me.

The index is divided into folders, and in each folder are posts. Folders show up as new/unread material
when there is new/unread material (of course), but say if I chose to never check a post, eventually that post would no
longer count "unread". Or at least that's how it used to be.

But now they do, it seems. So because I chose not to read certain posts 2 months ago, that folder always shows up as having new/unread material for me.
So now all folders always show up as new/unread material for me, even if nothing new has been posted since I last checked in.
So it's just a mild annoyance not knowing which folders actually have new material, and which just have old new :?: material I never looked at.
These days I just look at the dates instead.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there some switch that can be flipped somewhere?
Not worth the trouble if it's a big deal.

Thanks for all.

Just below where you login/logout on the home page is something that says 'mark forums read'. That does the same job as logging out used to do. I just use it last thing before I logout if I need to.
I'm just a 'girl' who wants to become a fembot whats wrong with that?
