Great stuff. A bit railroady once you've avoided a few deaths though. Also it needs a few options to back off from obvious deaths like the waitress. You've been planning this for a while, I see as I recognized the story snipet you wrote for the main page challenge.

Wow, lots of effort have been put into this. I'm trying to explore all the paths right now, I hope to see more stories like this in the future!

I've reached the good ending. I think :?

Good work. :applause:

I'm also working on an IF compiler right now. It's targeted to even more non-linear writing, the game is mostly stats-based and can include situation loops where the stats control which choices the player has. It also allows you to write the whole IF within MS-Excel (or LibreOffice) and compiles it into a website based on the Undum game engine. Javascript only, too, no special server setup needed.

A game for it is in the workshop, too. The first chapter runs well already and there's only little features left to be added to the game compiler. E.g. mood pics for players and interlocutors, and changing of names as "Punk 5" into "Lars" in panels as soon as people know each other's names. But stats-based scene selection and opinions of people as a stat are already built-in. :)

If you really want a guaranteed way to reach it, and you don't mind spoilers/cheating, etc, here's the path to take when you reach those choices.
Oh wow. Being used to the FYOP on our own wiki made the changes quite surprising. I'd sort of assumed that the same thing would happen if I happened to get to the same page as I did in some of the other 'runs'...

Robotman wrote:You can definitely structure stories in Twine (and FYOP) that way. There are paths that lead back to the same place in this story too, and even a path that has a different outcome depending on when you take it. ;)
What you've made and written is very impressive, Robotman. Many thanks for the engaging story (and multiple deaths) :)

That was both very fun and must have been a huge amount of work for you, Robotman. Thanks!

that was fun, manage not to get killed off too many times. I have to say one part, I won't say where, reminded me of "...Earthman, teach us of this thing called 'kissing' ..." ;)
