It’s been awhile since I posted stuff here in the story section. Yes I know with setbacks and hiccups along the way as well as RL issues that I’m not going to reveal. Also I felt a bit held back and was hoping to do a collab with other writers. Then it hit me..

“Just go solo and see what happens!”

And so I took this to heart. I did my writing on Word so please keep that in mind. Now on with the show!

This following tale is based on a scripted and in a narrative format. Please keep this in mind and now…


Jake Brytestar here and I’ve been thinking about how to organize all my adventures and tales in an encapsulated format. In other words think of this as an episode 0 type or a pilot episode.

Also keep in mind that these are at the most a rough product of sorts. In this episode I felt bummed that I had been promised involvement of a various productions that were either pranks, never materialized or my agent got suckered although the latter was a rare occasion in which I had threaten to fire him. This particular part of my acting career even if it was part-time as I was part of various athletic and social endeavors that also too up a lot of various things on my plate.

I had been sick and tired getting mistreated at least that’s how I saw it. In one instant I thought that I was given massive leeway in a production in which I was going to show off my true self. My true self you asked well I heard this proverb. ‘The most difficult role is being yourself’ as opposed to try to be someone you’re not.

‘But Jake an actor is someone that is a pretender like a role player of sorts!’

Trust me I know how to pretend. Actors and spies do have some elements in common. Ok I feel that I’m probably going to get derailed if I tried to explain it further as these events still linger in my head.

Lets pick up the scene as I was at poolside sometime in late spring at Brytestar Manor in metro Detroit. Irona informed me that my soon to be former agent (on the talent front as I do have multiple agents) Gordon (last name redacted) decides to show up at my door. I gritted my teeth a bit as Irona guided him out to the pool area and to my location as Lynne and Lacey were for the most part getting the pool prepped for the upcoming season less than three weeks away.

Irona: bows Jake, Gordon is here.

Jake: That will be all Irona. As she leaves Jake motions Gordon to have a seat. Alright Gordon which bridge do you want sell me? Mackinaw Bridge? Oh I know the Gordie Howe bridge? I’m not buying it.

Gordon: Now Jake..His face scrunches a bit knowing that he was expecting the cold shoulder from his best client.

Jake: Now Jake nothing! A promised ensemble that’s what you said the best minds in the biz! I was told one thing and was given another. This last promised production it ended up being tech only without the human superpowers and supernatural bit like Westworld meets Angel meets whatever made up junk you put up with!

Gordon: Now Jake I did guide into a couple episodes in that show about water rescue.

Jake: Don’t get me started with that. It was on the final season that you deliberately hid until it was announced last summer. He glares at Gordon.

Gordon: He was smirking at the news. Blame the numbers with had faulty info at the time. Look Jake the sci-fi and supernatural tropes especially androids and mecha just aren’t what they use to be like it was ten years ago.

Jake: Oh? And what about Divinity Diaries? That was tailor made for me! Instead you hid the fact that the show’s creator went to some actors guild on another continent on a purposely designed non-existent to save money. Somehow certain forces at work put in someone who can barely act and a production staff that looked like they never seen a movie or TV show before! He slams a Sunday newspaper on a tempered glass side table.

Gordon: Smirks again as he is starting to face a very irate Jake. Let’s start anew we’ll go on the theater circuit. Sure it’s snack money and its nothing like your endorsement deals you have with…
Jake: He glares at Gordon once more. Let’s me tell you something. If this was ten to 15 years while my folks were my first line agents and minders. One can say that no to low risk work would ‘snack money’ or simple disposable income that one can afford cheaply made toys or something. But I have evolved and grew but you derailed that time and time again. It ends here and now Gordon. I am releasing you as my talent agent.

Gordon: What? Think about what you’re doing Jake. I’m the best that was, is and..

Jake: You’re right on at least one thing WAS. Go to the well once too often and that well is dry. You worked ONLY for your own interest and took advantage of my family’s trust. How long did you think that your own ambitions set on being a gold digger would last? Forever?! Wrong sadly you of all people should know that nothing are forever other than diamonds. We’re not diamonds and you should’ve figured out years ago.

Gordon: His face is blank and silent.

Jake: Presses the intercom to summon Irona. Irona, Can you kindly show Mr. Snow to the door?

Irona: As you wish sir.

Jake: Since we are on the subject of snack money. He gets up and goes inside to retrieve $20. Think of this as my last parting gift to you Gordon.

Gordon: He pockets that 20. I thought that we're really friends?

Jake: If you have not been consumed by your own ambitions that got twisted and corrupted perhaps we could have been in another reality.

Irona escorts Gordon Snow, Jake’s now former talent agent out to his vehicle once he got in his vehicle and without a word sped off the manor grounds.

Jake: Good riddance, Now maybe I could finally and truly start anew. Clare?

Clare: In A.I. voice form. Yes Jake?


Jake: Send word to my folks that Gordon Snow’s services are no longer needed due to poor performance of his duties. So for the sake between his family and mine that a proper severance package can be worked out.

Clare: The others as well as myself heard the exchange thru the 10G. But I believe you should have ended the matter much sooner then later.

Jake: I know I know Clare. But I just wasn't able to it at the earliest opportunity. Hence this was the only time I was able to do so.

Clare: Shall I have Lynne and Lacey report to maintenance?

Jake: Yeah they were overdue for it yesterday.

Clare: As you wish Sir.

So this was it I gave Gordon the heave ho. I honestly should have done this much sooner. But as I told Clare that the opportunity just didn't present itself until now. Now you're probably wondering what I was planning to do next? Honestly I had been thinking about this matter for a while now. But since I no longer needed Gordon’s services which for the most part sabotaged any collaboration efforts that I was really hoping to cultivate. And so my brainchild Brytestar Studios began.


Now you're wondering but Jake why this route you could have gone another way. Unfortunately the lesson I learned from Gordon was that I did try that route but I kept thinking that maybe things were changed and improved under his supposed guidance. However as I much as I dare hope or dream that simply never took place. Also in some way I felt lied to now I'm also hearing that maybe you could find another talent agent. Honestly I could have gone that route even after I let go of Gordon. However I felt that the guarantee of near total control given what happened with Gordon just wasn't possible. In other words I simply wanted to write and direct my own way instead of beholden to another at least that was the thought. Also live action while it is a good medium I felt pulled towards Anime and Manga.

Also as much as I wanna play in somebody else's world. Perhaps it was time to build my own universe no, my very own megaverse. My thought my vision As well as my hopes and dreams something that even if I go to another writer again just won't be realized. So the first thing I was going to do was to plan a press conference to unveil my brainchild.

The post actually made it! Anyway I plan to add more to the pilot episode to explain more about Jake’s journey as well as Jake’s Angels. As for right now Lynne and Lacey are limited to cameos for right now. But don’t worry you’ll see the team in action soon! I promise.
