I think you're on the right track, Stephaniebot - but for the moment I've veered off toward a simpler viral plot.
"Authorization voided"
Female fembot owner calls in repair(man|woman)
- since owner woke up, her 'bot isn't responding to commands.
Technician arrives, gets set up to examine the bot.
Realizes the bot does respond to his (or her) commands.
Owner is saying how frustrated she is (but her tone is Stepford demure).
She's talking more than paying attention.
Technician confirms her suspicions. The nanite safeties have been switched off.
Owner, reeling, tries to understand.
Technician's sympathetic, but almost nonchalant about what has occurred.
Without the safeties on, nanites will be released to transform any woman into a fembot.
"Oh dear. I'm certain I was very careful to lock off access to those controls... No reason a very careful woman can't be a successful fembot owner... Are you certain...?"
Tech: "yeah, it's a virus, gets in there and flips the safeties, nanites spill out. harmless to men, of course."
"of course."
First fembot starts treating her owner like an object, changing Owner's clothes into something more servile (maid, silver suit, collar?). Owner doesn't resist.
Ownerbot struggles to adjust, but she's still all Stepford-toned, and working it out.
"Why am I not angry?"
"Of course this unit is not irritated - why would anyone want to program a bot that gets angry?"
"I feel so... empty!" she gleams.
"To think, I used to be so against the idea of being automated. If you'd asked me "NAME, would you like nanites to convert your body and reprogram you to become a mindless machine for pleasing men, I would have said, "No, I do not want that at all. I'm too afraid of becoming perfect. I don't want to be the best good girl ever. I'm a silly scaredy cat. I don't ever want to be made into a robot."
"It occurs to me, since I'm a machine, I need an owner."
"Searching.... ....eligible candidate found.... co-worker, neighbor, best friend... NAMEOFTECHNICIAN"
The technician's virus did three things.
- safeties off
- make Owner call his number for help
- and assign himself as her default owner.
We can always hope, an epidemic breaks out.
