To all of you in the US, there are apparently some "Delos" and "Westworld" promotional websites you can check out and do stuff on. The details are in some of the posts here. I can't check them out myself, because I always get redirected to fucking HBO Canada.

I've been getting the email updates, haven't thoroughly read everything on the sites, but they're adding to them all the time.

There's a new nice trailer called "Dreams" on a 'secret' site that you reach when visiting discoverwestworld.com you have to enter the code VIOLENTDELIGHTS on the "employee access" screen. I uploaded the trailer for those with access to the FTP.

The VIOLENTDELIGHTS code sent me to an admin back-end to read the fictional emails of Delos employees. I learned two things:

1. The Westworld promotional team visits this site.
2. They were big fans of WillowWisp's "Virus Alert" series.

I'm liking this more and more all the time...

I'm still a little uncertain as to what the underlying technology is going to be here. The Da Vincian white liquid skeletons we've seen so far or, what is really clear in this most recent clip, a more basic animatronic like structure covered in rubber? The two would seem to be exclusive and separate. Perhaps there are two different generations of hosts and the skeletons represent new, unproven tech? Curious.

I've read articles about the show where it flat out states that Evan Rachel Wood's gynoid is a first generation Android "host" in the story. This. Combined with the clips we've so far, makes me 99.9% certain that the more mechanical versions are early generation androids and that the 3D printed white skeletons are the iPhone 7 to Dolores' iPod. I'm also quite confident that Dr. Ford's tech race to make the androids more and more lifelike to the point where the line becomes blurry between and android and a human will be an essential part of the plot. Good drama, but maybe not a necessarily awesome thing for us, more "uncanny valley"- mechanical- inclined.

As a side note, it appears HBO will be having a free preview weekend Oct 7-10 on various satellite and cable providers. Might give some of you the chance to see the first two episodes at least.

And as a side note to my side note, episode 01 is titled The Original. This may support the theory that the more mechanical objects we've seen represent 1st gen tech that is being replaced by the 3d printed figures. Perhaps even tying into the original film story line and we're picking up with Delos totally re imagining the park from the ground up.

This promo seems to suggest what I was expecting, that the 3d-printed bodies are actually just softer shells over the mechanical skeletons... which would make a lot of sense in a near-future scenario, as far as re-usability and repairs go.

Couldn't watch it tonight, will tomorrow, but glad I'm still early enough to ask: does anyone else just find it surreal that we now have an X-rated "Westworld" TV series on HBO?

I mean, really! I started renting movies by myself when I hit adolescence specifically to watch the original "Westworld"; and I remember still shots of the open panel scene from that cruddy "Beyond Westworld" series as one of my earliest turn ons. Now there's this. Ten-year old me wouldn't even be able to process it.

Solid show all around, for me. I think they really nailed the tone - it never gets too heavy handed or cheesy. The soundtrack / scoring is a nice, hilarious touch.

I agree. You must be around the same age as I am, because I was doing the same thing back in the day! Westworld is still my #1 movie as far as being the "total package" as far as fembot action. (Which is kind of sad since it's been 43 years.) To me, it really is very strange to hear anyone even mention it outside of here. Even though it might not be what we are looking for as far as the original, I believe this is going to spark a huge fire.
