Vita has an online store that you can download games from. Sony also sells games on mini memory cards if you'd rather have a physical copy.

Yeah, but can you download games from one country into another? Usually they have their online stores separated by country, and even if you can, it probably won't get a translation.

Yes and no. The Vita, PS3, and PS$ are all region free and I have gotten stuff from the Japan store for my US PS3 and it worked fine. The issue though is you need to have a PSN account for the country you want to get the game from. I have one for the US, Japan , and England all on my PS3. The Vita though can only have one account active on it at a time. There are ways to have different accounts on the same Vita but it is a pain in the ass to do from what I have heard. Though if you import the game it will work fine on the Vita even if you have a US, Europe, or Australian Vita.
