Post by Nickel Dakota » Tue Feb 12, 2013 7:57 pm

Hello Everyone -

It's been awhile since I announced a new release on this board as I haven't produced a fembot-themed film for quite some time. However, I am pleased to announce my latest release titled: Technically Erroneous

This film is available for downloadable purchase in the Movies section of my site: http://www.countdowntzebra.com

Below are preview pics and description:

I hope those who view this film enjoy it very much and that it pleases your tastes and interests. Thank you for having me.

Kind Regards,
Nickel Dakota

I instantly bought it, happening to have a wee bit of cash in my pocket.

Audio effects are de minimis when appropriate and when called for are just right as well. The sounds themselves are decent and the volume is perfect. Doesn't take you out of it.

No props besides a remote and a laptop, the converse observation being that nothing looks fake.

The chick is a master at freeze, etc. Damn. She good!

A potential quibble might be: too much camera time on the male protagonist trying to sort out his malfunctioning fembot, as well as on arstsy shots (which I kinda like, btw) of bookshelves, keyboards, wine-pouring, etc... But it's not silly. The cuts are done right and aren't really obtrusive.

Verdict: It is well done. A new studio experimenting? Always welcome in my book (and can count on my pocketbook as well).

P.S.
Need I contrast this with the shockingly bullshitified stuff many studios routinley try to passoff as ASFR content nowadays? While this clip only hits a few tripwires, it was done well and with sincerity. I look forward to more.

Nickel Dakota has been catering to the freeze community from sometime ago, and his videos are top notch as for acting and being focused on what we like (as opposed of regular porn) is concerned in my opinion. I highly recommend him.
If you liked this video, you're going to love automatic visitor, check it out!

wjbaines - That was one of the most concise and insightful reviews I've ever read of one of my films so I thank you for that.

I do have a tendency to not linger on one shot for too long as I'm always under the impression that the viewer's eye can get easily bored or distracted unless the image takes them somewhere else in the story right before this moment occurs. Timing, of course, is everything on this account. This does relate in terms of cutting away to the protagonist on such occasions. I know the strategy is normally to keep the "guy" out of the movie as much as possible but if the pace of the editing and overall storyline calls for visual attention to focus on what he's up to, I normally swallow this rule and go ahead with my instincts. Of course, it's not so much of an issue when one incorporates only women in a movie - then, it's a no brainer. But I did not have that luxury this time around.

Anyway, thank you for your comments and I'm glad you enjoyed the piece overall.

I must say this tops it as my favorite clip I've ever purchased from C4S.

It got everything right, in my opinion, and a lot of the other studios, such as RoboLust, could take a lesson from it to improve their videos.

I hope you might use this particular actress again in another video, as I truly enjoyed her performance.

If I may offer a dissenting opinion at least in part.

This movie, to me, comes off as a freeze/limp fetish video with her being a robot as the catalyst for those situations. Now, that's not a bad thing in and of itself, I happen to enjoy freeze to an extent myself but it didn't do a whole lot for me from a robot perspective. The robot parts were ok and the actors did a fine job but again it just feels like a freeze/limp video with a robot as the draw.

That being said, Nickel makes very beautiful movies. The lighting and the way he frames a shot are excellent. He always has models that come off as "classier" even though I'm sure I've seen the model in this video elsewhere (her name is Paige,I think). He obviously spends time editing his videos and prepping before a shoot. I'd be willing to bet he has probably worked on mainstream stuff.

So, I'm not slamming this film at all nor Nickel either, Automatic Visitor is still one of my favorites. I'm just saying, in my opinion, that the robot part of this took a back seat to the freeze/limp part, either intentionally or unintentionally. It won't stop me from buying the next Nickel Dakota production though.

King Jeremy -

That is a very astute observation. I have no hesitation admitting out loud and I am first and foremost a freeze fetishist above all else. At least, that's the aspect that I have the strongest personal relationship with.

I remember way back when I released Automatic Visitor, which received such surprisingly wonderful reviews, that a number of members on this forum asked if I would consider producing Fembot films on a regular basis. In spite of such an warm-hearted invitation, I had to be rather honest that I could make no guarantees in that respect, as I have a number of other fetishes that take more priority on a personal level and I would not be able to give the Fembot community, or films in that genre, the full respect they deserve. Perhaps some of you may recall that exchange.

Nevertheless, I have reconnected with the female performer from Automatic Visitor and we are once again somewhat geographically accessible to each other. We will more than likely be hanging out this weekend and I'll have a serious discussion with her to see if we can collaborate on another Fembot production. The important thing is that we both need to approach it with integrity and respect for the audience. If she and and I are not excited about embarking upon this on a creative and artistic level, the end result will be an emotional disappointment for all involved. So, we'll all keep our fingers crossed on that one.

Either way, I appreciate everyone's intelligent and thoughtful feedback this time around, as I have before.

Nickel
