Wind it up

Post by Tio » Mon Jan 22, 2007 4:08 pm

Just incase no one had mentioned before Gwen Stefanis new music video for the song, Wind it up, has the dancers dressed up all doll like, being wound up with giant keys in their back and walking around in stiff robot style.

Thought some might appreciate
"I wish I could at least 30 percent
Maybe 50 for pleasure then skip all the rest"

Wow, that Wind It Up video is so stereotypically MTV hyper-fast edit shit.

Literally, the cuts between scenes are less than half a second apart.
I have no idea what the "story" or even "concept" of the video is.

There is maybe one 0.75 second scene of the dancers doing any kind of wind-up action. Don't bother wasting your precious 3 minutes of life on it.

BUT, it looks like plenty of people like to make their own little dance/music videos to the song and put them on Youtube. I don't have time to sift through all of those, but probably there must be some good cases of wind-up movement in there which you can ACTUALLY SEE.

God, I hate MTV.

Apparently when formed live the wind-up dancers feature prominently.

I've noticed the same thing. Tends to look like 3 or 4 concepts just thrown together. One of the (much) younger ladies I work with claims that it's because when they release things like this on DVD or other stuff, the videos get the remix treatment for bonus content, and each "concept" becomes a full length video.

Two or three things made me a robophile. First, a magazine my dad had that included some Sorayama images.
Then a movie called "Cherry 2000", I think.
Then All is Full of Love.

It is still my favorite music video ever.
