Lexa Doig - Andromeda Ascendant

Known affectionately by the crew as "Rommie," the android avatar of the powerful artificial intelligence within the ship Andromeda Ascendant was portrayed by Toronto native Alexandra (Lexa) Doig. Created by the crew's brilliant engineer Seamus Harper (who was more than a little bit infatuated with her), it soon became clear that Rommie was somewhat of a distinct entity from the ship's core AI system. Much like another famous sci-fi android–Lt. Commander Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation–Rommie possessed superhuman abilities, like super-strength and speed, heightened senses, and resistance to injury. However, unlike Data, Rommie was constructed with the ability to feel and exhibit human emotions–which sometimes caused conflicts with the other Andromeda crew members.

Following her stint on Andromeda, Lexa Doig has continued to work on several science fiction television shows, including The 4400, Stargate SG-1, V, and Continuum. She also appeared in a 2009 episode of Supernatural. You may remember her as the lead female character, Rowan, in the 2002 horror film Jason X. Most recently, Doig guest-starred on the fifth season of the superhero series Arrow as the morally ambiguous Talia al Ghul. She also stars as the complicated and high-powered Hollywood producer DeAnn Anderson in E!'s drama series The Arrangement.

Brandy Ledford - Doyle

The android Doyle (Brandy Ledford) was a late addition to the Andromeda crew, built by engineer Seamus Harper in season five when he was stranded in a planetary system with a malfunctioning Rommie. He put several fragments from Rommie's core AI into Doyle, which led the two androids to have a fairly contentious relationship later on. In contrast to Rommie, Doyle was kept unaware of her artificial nature by Seamus–which was quite upsetting to her when she finally learned the truth.

Former model Brandy Ledford also continued acting after her short run on Andromeda ended. She appeared in an episode of Stargate: Atlantis in 2006, and in a recurring role as Shelby Varland in the Canadian mystery drama Whistler from 2006-2007. More recently, she appeared in a 2009 episode of Modern Family and a 2013 episode of NCIS: Los Angeles.
